Diet? What diet?

Atenah's blog regarding weight loss made me want to respond, on how I am doing :)

Nothing much REALLY happened. My body got a little funky last week. Maybe cos it was the 'monthly visitor' that made me feel, look and literally feel 10 lbs heavier. You know, sometimes our bodies do not react to exercises and detoxication immediately. Its like a meter, going higher and higher and then after the 3rd week, it goes to the 'downward' momentum.

So today, after the 3rd week of 'kinda' watching what I ate (not all the time ok, I don't torture myself), and doing more walking than the usual (30 mins or more of brisk walking every day during lunch). I put on my pants, I could feel the difference. Mind you, today is the first day that I could feel the real difference. My pants feel bigger for the 1st time in 3 weeks! I know, the regain of weight made me feel so mad about myself. That’s for not exercising for almost 2 months!

NO, Ely's trying not to be contented yet. She knows, after seeing her picnic pictures, she needs to pump up more energy in the brisk walking regiment. I think maybe the walking is starting to give me some reward. Aper tak nya, kaki sampai sakit2 jalan dari Union Square back to my office, everyday coming back to the office panting but feeling great (don’t worry, I have been doing that for almost 3 years! I am just exagerating).

I have not weighed myself since I started this. Takut lah! I'll wait another 1.5 weeks and then weigh myself. If I am only 3 lbs heavier than my original weight, then I can say that I had some success to it.

I am still wondering how I could lose that 25lbs so easily and find it so hard to lose this 7lbs!

Anyway, today I feel happy (as usual) as the sun is up and the music is playing on the computer. Tonnes of stuff to do, boss tells me,'Ely, when I return, get ready to take some notes, we have some stuff to do!'. Sure, by then Ely would have finished her cuppa coffee and ready to go!

ayu, no secret lah. i just like to smile and laugh. i can be loud at work too. sometimes i am not serious when my boss talks to me then he would go 'Stop!'. then kena serious lah haha. i do get mad easily tho. and i go to my closest co worker to vent. dah tuh, ok. i do get upset at times, mcm org biasa jugak. like i said in my earlier posting, i tend to try to laugh things off to make me feel better.

suriyati, i will never reach my ideal weight lah, maybe a goal weight will sound more compromising to me. i am always literally bubbly!!! round and fleshy hahaha. kalau i kurus sgt my husband kata tak cute. to me, as long as i get to a weight that will not make me look sloppy, i happy. u know, not too slim, not under the fat category also.

Go Ely go! :D Cheering you from here :D

You started reading that book I emailed you? I have to confess I stopped for a while, then last nite, dunno why, printed a few pages and continued reading. I guess in a way, if all that info don't go into my head, then it's just for inspiration. :)

Anyway, hope you keep up the regimen! :)

By the way, I haven't weighed myself in like... ummm 2 months! I don't want to. Takut!! But I can tell from the Taebos I've been doing, my thighs are shaping up nicely and my bras aren't as tight :D Will write about it in my blog in a week or so - don't want to be too excited about it coz I don't want to jinx it... nooooo!

Keep up the great work, Ely! :)

Ely have you tried taking OMEGA-3? My mom takes that and there's an apparent difference.. initially she just wanted to lower down her calories..but looks like she lost some weight too!

For me..hehe I need some fats! kasi sikit ah!;)

n.

Hi Ely,
I found for me, that cutting down on chocolate made a real difference. Also, if I ate rice in the evenings, then I would have a tummy bulge for a while. So now I eat fuller foods in the afternoons, a really good breakfast and then I can walk/exercise it all off and I only eat rice in the evenings once a week. I try to take staircases as opposed to lifts and make myself do long brisk walks at least 2/3 times a week and all that has helped tremendously. I'm vibrant and happy! Hopefully, that's what counts too... *love as always*

hartini, nope, i didnt have the time to read the book! thats what i was suppose to do, i was thinking i knew that i was suppose to do something!

i am like u takut nak weigh. nvr mind, weigh when u're comfortable ok!

ood, u're too funny. i am not a weightwatcher, just a makan watcher :)

nour, yer ker? omega 3 works ker? ok nanti i gi pharmacy and take alook. its easier to diet here cos i can avoid nasi. but the desserts are killers hahaha.

Oh Ely and I forgot to add that ignoring fast food for a few weeks also makes a lot of of difference to the weight gain. cheers!

anedra, kalau u nak cut down, make sure u dont torture urself ok. nanti jadi rebound pulak as u make up for what u cut back on. more to give hehehe, more cuddly!

susan, i know what u mean. we eat fast food very very occasionally. itupun for the kids, most times, we eat at home, indian food or the salad restaurant. fast food is a real killer! but itu kopi jgn lupa ok susan? hehe

Nour, that Omega-3, the name sounds familiar... Oh yea, I hear that everyone's been losing weight on Herbalife. Everyone is selling it here... it's freaking expensive! But then you know it's a meal supplement. I love to smell my food, bite, chew and roll it around in my mouth. Can't do that with milk meal supplement. It's best to just select the right foods to eat, instead of depending on meal supplements coz one day, mesti jelak and all that will go to waste. Plus have to learn to eat right coz when the target weight has been reached, the maintenance part is the hardest.

That's right Susan :) I haven't had fast food in 2 months! *yay to me* If not, every day Old Chang Kee curry puffs. Lama2 my body jadi Old Chunky and my face, puffy. *heheee* But the last few days I was sooooo craving for chips, so I bought myself a trans fat free baked rice chips. Sedap!

Ely, take your time. I lapsed too. But hope to read more soon. Cheering you again *Go Ely Go!* :D

Heard of herbalife (hasnt entered malaysia has it?)and have seen friends shrink many many sizes with its help. It must work then.

But eating is among the pleasures of life. It satisfies all 5 senses. One doesnt live to eat of course but one should not be deprived from the pleasure too.

Fat-free food is awfully good and healthy but i also call it why-bother food. I believe in organic food tho.

My approach would be, eat everything, but in moderation. You need the pahit, manis, lemak, masin, masam, pedas, payau, kelat all, it's not natural to go without any of the element. But itu lah tu, sederhana kan (tu yang susah tu)? A plateful of rice 3x a day is NOT sederhana. Seconds are NOT sederhana. etc etc. And do exercise (easier said than done).

Eat, be merry, and sweat it out!

It's Friday, loose fingers a bit on fridays! Sowi!

Cheers.

well ely, nice job there!!! keep it up. i am doing pretty okay too.lost 5 lbs since monday.that's 1 lb a day. i hope the plateau is farther this time.

i know what u mean when u say that the home stretch to ur target is an uphill one.lemak lemak degil...but the bit of work will pay off once u see results.

ood, when u mentioned why bother food, thats what happens here on weekdays. hear me...my husband cooks at least 5x a week. i take the weekends..sometimes sundays only or more if i have the ingredients to cook malay food.

he works from home and he doesnt like fried food. so baked chicken, stir fried meat and vege (i ajar dia tuh) and his chillie can be so healthy! i rasa lebih senang dan ringkas masak the american way (not american food! no burgers her pls) lile baking, sauteeing and boiling...bland? itu sambal kat aisbok ada hehehe.

yeah eating in moderation is the best bet. dont eat until u're bloated, eat as u need...tonnes of water.

nazrah...u go gurl! send before and after pics lah hehehe.
