Sigh…I have to admit that this forgetfulness in me is getting worse by the day. I know that I am not THAT old to be such a forgetful person. I also know that I don’t have a bad memory since at least 6 months back.
Could it be because of my overwhelming tasks at work that makes me forgetful? Like the memory just oozes out of my brains and through my ears and nose and eventually my mouth? Disgusting eh? But really…I just can't seem to remember things! Luckiest thing though, I have not missed any project deadlines…yet! Thanks to my Outlook Calendar. But to keep myself efficient for on my everyday tasks, I have my shorthand book to list the things to do (no, I don't do shorthand).
Ok..let me see what I have forgotten so far, if I can remember (hahaha). Meetings..lunch meetings for the Asian Connection Club that I have missed, like 2 times already. And I also missed one of the Asian Connection Events, thank goodness they didn’t press the issue on me. And being late for an early morning meeting for underwriters last week (good thing I came at 8am and was 7mins late!), my team lead asked why I was late and I said,'Well you know me, I am seldom late! Why do you think I was late? '….the answer speaks for itself! It also took me 3 days and 10 of the kids' reminders to bring back their weekly allowance!
And then today, I received this reminder email saying,'Reminder : HEALING SESSION 12-1pm today. Bring your favorite dish!'. And here I was, IM ing my co worker asking her where to go for lunch. I was also thinking of that de-stress power walk but when I received the reminder message, not just did I have to shoot that walking idea down, I did not bring any dish for the potluck!
So there I went, asking Monica what to bring…should I bring doughnuts (icky!) or just bring salad and chips. I'll eat the salad and share the fats with them?
Then comes the boss who asked me if I did a request order for an IT problem we had for a new rep. And I wonder what else have I forgotten?
This Tuesday morning is beginning to feel like Monday after the July 4th long weekeend…arrrghhh!!! So tidaaaaaaaaakkk!!!
*Breath Ely breath….*
Ok, better now, I think I need a 15 minute walk during break. I need to gain my memory back, maybe I dropped them on the sidewalk along the way.

breathing is good Ely! I'm in the same boat. Just called up my son's teacher just now and went "Hello! Can I speak to....??" BLANK! At that very moment forgot her name!! Bad mommy indeed!
It'll come back tomorrow! Surely!
i think due to stress at work oso....cos i used to be sooo forgetful...den figure out i was stressed at work..bringing work home and all that...so after that..told myself i must change my working habits..and though still a bit forgetful now...but can see not that bad as last time. :)
mammal!!! u pun pelupa mammal? takper. great minds forget alike hehehe. cayang mammal!!!
shesays, i think overwhelming work load lah. so my brain oozes out! i dont like it. so now i have to write all that i need to do. if i dont put on my outlook calendar, habis!!!!
besok ada 7.30am meeting...see if i remember or not!!!
Me, just as forgetful! Sometimes in the middle of a sentence, I forget what I'm suppose to say! *LOL* I keep a notepad near me to jot down things for personal and work... nanti lupa lagi...
Makan apa boleh help this forgetfullness??
Ely....trust me it's the stress at work! I'm feeling the same...we call it...J....(school's name)Syndrome heheh
hartini, i read Readers Digest and it says that zinc could retain ur memory. but dont overdose on the zinc!
i think it runs in the management dept! my supervisor (shes my direct co-worker) is super forgetful (u tell her something, 3 mins she forgets). my boss is oh so tidak forgetful also. his asst managers, aiyoh...not worth mentioning. the best is our director, she remembers everyone's birthdays, and teeny info. so we're ALL the hopeless ones!
sorry nour, that last paragraph was for u my dear! lupa pulak nak sebut!!! lupa lagi!
hi ely, i happened to come across your blog. You can try taking gingko biloba - supposed help in memory. you can get it from any pharmacy
eh eh your co-worker better check if she's got Alzheimer! hehe my former P suffered from that...kesian pulak but considering how cruel she was towards her teachers...maybe it's payback time..God knows....
Agree with anonymous (whoever that is) on ginko biloba or try out brain gym! I believe there's a lot of courses there in the states on this.
anonymous, thanks for the tip. maybe i should start on that. or maybe learn to take it easy at work eh?
nour maybe co worker should check for me if i have alzheimer hehehe. dah jgn nak marah sgt dgn ur former P tuh hehehe.
