Little Alya
was for Lilac's baby's 1st birthday. Of course, me being the fairy god 'kecoh' auntie, would so much like to celebrate her birthday. Alah siapa lagi lah I nak manjakan, apart from my kids and husband? *winks*
The picnic was at Shoreline Park in Mountain View, 30 minutes from our place but only 10 minutes from Lilac's house. It is by the water, lots of wind, lots of kite flying. It was a fun day for the family.
Due to popular requests, I was advised to put up the pictures of the delicacies that I cooked today. Nothing to brag about but good enough to make this someone drool hehehe.

David made his 'labor of love' lasagna. Lilac made spicey mee hoon goreng, 'ada umpphh' and chocolate chip muffins. She also ordered portuguese egg tarts (cos she says that I love them tarts!!!) and yummy birthday cake. Sorry, I was too busy eating to be taking the pictures...
Thank you Lilac and Sambog for 'layan'ing my request to have the gathering for baby Alya. Till we meet again in a few weeks time, insyaAllah...

ely, dah besar alya!! i remember when theyw ere just moving to SF!! I am so happy that rantauan has brought all of us together. anyway, yes, will have a closer look at nagasari. Have you seen my ayam golek and also sardine rolls? Oh yes..ayam golek resipi memang ada kat rantauan.

Thanks for coming to Alya first picnic birthday and bringing all the food. This picnic almost did not happen if not for Ely motivation. It was great having you guys here and next time, we should bring chairs.

tety g : yes mom said that she was very proud of me when i told her that i was making nagasari the night before. its the passion of cooking!
kak teh, yes alya has grown and shes so beautiful! and yeah we had a blast at the picnic. i forgot to mention that muddy (mardiana) was there too. i am sure we will do more of such picnic.

That picture of nagasari looks very tempting.. I'll try your recipe one of this days perhaps over the weekend.. oh!! I sure like to know how you make that curry puff.. the pastry especially.. looks flaky like karipap skin.. I tried that many years ago but does not turn out as it should be.. Anyway.. the picnic looks like a success.. congrates!!.. :)
suriyati, i guess i failed to indicate in the blog that the pastry was instant pastry from the halal meat store that i bought from. thats why it was a success hhehehe. ely main tipu.
anyway to all, i have tried to make such pastries at home from scratch and it was a success too. so i am going to put the recipe in my recipe blog ok.
Shiok. As a recipient of the nagasari, curry puffs, spicy mee goreng and muffins I have a lot to be thankful for yesterday. What made it better is that I even have leftovers for today.
